Mayflower Community School nominated for Regional LABC South West Building Excellence Awards

This state of the art new School in Ham, Plymouth, Designed and Built by Devon Contractors, has been shortlisted for the Regional Finals in the Best Educational Development Category.
The winners will be announced at a black tie gala dinner on Friday 18th June at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay.
Plymouth High School for Girls Project shortlisted for Regional Award

Toward the end of last year, Devon Contractors completed a £multi-million restoration and refurbishment of the Grade II listed Arts Hall at the Plymouth High School for Girls to form a new Library and Sixth Form Centre.
This project has been shortlisted for the LABC South West Building Excellence Awards 2010 under the Best Technical Development Category.
The winners will be announced at a black tie gala dinner on Friday 18th June at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay.
Devon Contractors take the Bronze Award at the 2010 Considerate Constructors National Finals

The Design and Build Team for Mayflower Community School were delighted to win this prestigious and much coveted award in recognition for their extensive community efforts throughout the construction of this £multi-million project.
Collecting the award on behalf of the D&B Team are Director Daryn Hunt and Chief Estimator Steve Craddock.

Mayflower Community School shortlisted for the 2010
BCSE Industry Awards

This £7.2Million Design and Build project by Devon Contractors has made it to the final round of these prestigious awards under the 'Best Outdoor Learning Environment' category.
The awards ceremony, where the final Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be announced, is to be held at the Delfina in Bermondsey on the 24th of June.

The new Pets at Home Store, situated at the Bubble Retail Park, Liskeard is nearing completion ahead of schedule. This attractive, partially timber clad building champions local employment and use of materials, particularly with the distinctive stone walls that form the lower part of the structure.

Mayflower Community School Starts its first Term

This flagship project opened on time for the beginning of the academic year despite some major last minute alterations to the scheme.
Cabinet member for children and young people, Cllr Grant Monahan, said "I would like to pass on particular thanks to the project teams, schools and the contractors who have worked exceptionally hard to make these schools happen."

Over forty members of the Plymouth Construction Excellence Club and their guests inspected the £7.2Million new community school at Ham Drive, which is on target to be completed in time for the new academic year which begins in September.
Pictured (left to right) are Rev. Dr. David Nixon, the Vicar of St. Aubyn's Church (which is to be refurbished by Devon Contractors later this year); Devon Contractor's Devonport Guildhall Project Site Manager, Martin White; and The Right Reverend John Ford, Suffragen Bishop of Plymouth.
The Widey Court Primary School Tag Rugby Team, sponsored by Devon Contractors, did the county proud at the National Championships held at Rugby School.
The restortation of this Listed Building has aroused a great deal of local interest. The Plymouth Construction Excellence Club were eager to explore a building with such an interesting and varied past.
Two of our Construction Experts listened to presentations from the final year students of the Department of Sustainable Development in the Built Environment before delivering their impressions of the Students' 'Eco-Home' Project.

Devon Contractors welcomed the Labour and Co-operative MP for Plymouth Sutton, Linda Gilroy, to the Devonport Guildhall to witness the ongoing transformation of this significant, yet previously underused, building. 
Devon Contractors were delighted to assist locally-born artist Dail Behennah in the commissioning of her new work 'Labelled' in the mezzanine window at the Plymouth Museum.
