ITT Goulds Pumps, Axminster

Devon Contractors were responsible for the construction of a new 20,000sqft factory with 6,000 sqft of offices for ITT Goulds Pumps in Axminster. This design and build project was negotiated from the outset by our pre-contract team, who also submitted and secured planning consent. The whole design and build package, including our contract sum, was agreed in just over 2 weeks because the Client’s option to purchase the land was only open for three weeks. We subsequently proposed changes to the scheme that allowed us to hand back over £200k to the Client. The Client’s Tenant appointed us to undertake a very complicated fit-out, which with the Client’s approval was completed during the main contract works allowing the Tenant access to the building over 8 weeks early. Located under the factory floor is a 4m deep water tank that holds 48m3 of water, used for testing some of ITT’s biggest pumps.
